The Lake District is a wonderful place to visit and the best way to travel around is by public transport so you can fully admire the scenery and visit the many attractions. The bus network in the Lake District and Cumbria provides the most comprehensive method for travel across the area. Out of season there is a basic service which still visits many attractions on a regular basis. Further services cover the period Easter to November with additional buses and services over the summer period.

All bus services that pass near Lake District attractions are included. Bus services that operate in Cumbria but wholly outside the National Park are not included. For all included services, there are details of attractions visited, which days they operate, frequency, approximate routes plus any other useful information, for example if the bus is open top or takes bikes. The interactive map shows the location of the nearest bus stop for each attraction.
